South Kent Wind

South Kent Wind is a 270 MW project located in the Regional Municipality of Chatham-Kent in southwestern Ontario. It is a 50/50 joint venture between Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and Pattern Energy, with shared development and financing responsibilities. The wind turbine blades were manufactured by Siemens in Tillsonburg, Ontario and the towers were manufactured by CS Wind in Windsor, Ontario. The project consists of 124 2.3 MW Siemens Energy wind turbines.
The South Kent Wind project began construction in early 2013 and commenced commercial operations in the first quarter of 2014.
